Daffodil Day Collection at Morrisons
Several of our Members took turns collecting donations for Marie Curie UK at Morrisons in Llanishen recently, wearing the iconic daffodil hats that have become synonymous with Marie Curie UK’s vital work supporting people with terminal illnesses and their families.
The collection was part of Marie Curie’s annual Great Daffodil Appeal, which helps fund essential care and support across the UK. Our volunteers reported a warm reception from the community, with many shoppers generously contributing to this important cause.
The Vital Work of Marie Curie
Marie Curie UK provides compassionate care and support for people living with terminal illnesses, including terminal cancer. Their dedicated nurses deliver expert care in hospices and people’s homes throughout the UK, providing round-the-clock support when it’s needed most.
Beyond nursing care, Marie Curie’s trained volunteers and advisers offer practical information, emotional support, and a listening ear for patients and families navigating difficult times. Their services ensure that no one faces terminal illness alone.
The daffodil has become Marie Curie’s powerful symbol—representing hope, renewal, and resilience. As their website states: “They’re a positive, life-affirming symbol, with a bright and joyful yellow colour.”
